A hiccup in the road today. This morning at 8 am they took Hank in for his thumb surgery. Both thumbs were operated on and the operation itself went well. During surgery however Hank's blood pressure dropped dramatically and they struggled with that the entire time. Four hours later the respirator is back in and the blood pressure battle continues.
They have him on minimal sedation right now and he seems somewhat "restful". However, they are going to try and ween him as much as possible through the night from the sedation. He is hooked up to dialysis now and they are treating him at a much slower rate and with a blood thinner since he kept clotting the machine. They will keep him on dialysis now at the slow rate since his toxin levels continue to be elevated. They think he has some sort of infection and drew blood this afternoon that will tell them where the infection is and what it is. As of this evening, they hadn't gotten the results back.
Hopefully the respirator will be removed tomorrow and we'll start moving forward again. Please continue to keep Hankster in your prayers.

Sorry to hear about this hiccup, but we pray that he will go forward from here and steadily improve in the days ahead. We continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and am so glad that we are able to keep in touch this way.
